Cool

Where do you get them?

Where does everyone get those high class images that you see on so many websites? I know there are image services like www.gettyworks.com and www.corbis.com but I have read their license agreements and they say that these images may not be used in Website Templates.

I am a website designer and I want to sell Web Templates to my clients, but if I cannot obtain high class digital images, how can I make my templates look good?

I know there are other products like photodiscs and other image cds, but they cost at least $300 .. I cannot afford to spend that much just yet.

Any ideas, suggestions, sources?

Thanks.

photos of computers, business tools, business people, basically images for the website use.

You can see alot of samples at www.gettyworks.com

I know there are many web designers in here.... where do you get the images for your clients?

Thanks.

Fortunately I have a good friend who is also a good photographer! It's quite simple to get high quality shots that way and it means no worry with copyright and royalties. It would be easy enough for you to get some good snaps of PC based pics, it also means that you can get the exact shot you are after.

Things such as servers and business people are more difficult unless you have access to a studio environment and some willing models!

When you can, you should check the license agreements on those, too -- they're likely to be the same as they are for the individual images you mentioned. Generally, while you can certainly use any of these on websites, you can't resell multiple copies of them, which is what you'd be doing by using them in templates.

As mentioned, the best approach is either to take your own pics, or hire someone to do it for you. Perhaps find a photography student wanting to build a portfolio?

hmmm...... Depending on what EXACTLY you need pictures of.... I may be able to take photos for you... But I don't have a digital camera I guess I could take film pictures and scan them. However, that would cost money to have the pictures developed, and to pay for the film... Why don't you email me and we can talk further. mike@paradonsolutions.com
