Advertising in exchange for hosting (Webmaster site)-please read

Our site will launch in a couple weeks, and we will have tutorials (C/C++, perl, php, mySQL, html, etc), reviews (Software, hardware, and hosting reviews), previews (Ditto- though You can't really preview a host), forums, articles (Webmaster stuff)....
Our content is all webmaster related, so our users will be intersted in being hosted by you.
We can give you a great review in our reviews, and put ads up for you on our site also.

We will be using MySQL, so we need at least 512MB RAM on the server and we prefer 1GB... Processor speed-800MHZ...

TIA
You can PM me, reply, or email me at nuke505@yahoo.com, if you're interested in increasing business.

For advertising:
We will put up regulation size banners for you, and give you a great review in the hosting reviews section.
We can also advertise for you in our newsletter...

how much data transfer, approximately, do you need? How many visitors (Daily/monthly) or pageviews do you expect?

cheers,

. . . and give you a great review in the hosting reviews section.
The great review doesn't have to be earned?

Yes, it will be earned. I'm not going to be hosted by an unprofessional host.
There are a few that have contacted me and I wouldn't recommend people to, so I won't be parntering with the,

DataTransfer: First couple months I'll be developing my site..after that I shouldn't go over 20GB.
Email me for more info

A possible solution

Hi,

I could host you, on a Cobalt RaQ4i, but only 256 ram at current.

Would gladly host your site, will supply you with great banners, and PAY you 10% of all sales, excepting domain names.

We will primarly market hosting on your site, but also offer design & marketing.

Have been in business for 3+ years, and hosting on RaQ's for almost 2 years now.

With a banner spot on every page, you can have unlimited space & bandwidth.

Bring me some business, and i will put you on our next box, online soon, miimum 512 ram.

Let me know if you are interested

Thanks

You MOCK me PhatHosts?

Please caution whom you mock!

I never make an offer i cant backup. I am NOT a "free" nor unlimited host. In fact, i'm not even an inexpensive host. My most common package is 50 megs, and i am proud to provide first class support to every one of my clients.

I agree, too many people abuse words like "free" & "unlimited", though i am NOT!

Since Makeveli's users are mostly webmasters, they are ideal potential clients for me. Whether he gets 1 user/month, or a million, it's worth it to host him, in exchange for banner space on each page.

I also offered a percentage of sales, to make sure this is a long term deal. This way, he will also recieve income, and never regret the trade he made.

Any other questions?

Yea I do have another question. You stated in your initial post the following: "you can have unlimited space & bandwidth." Do you understand what the word unlimited means? You are saying that he can use 50 Tera Bytes of traffic a month if he wants to and use all the space that is left on your servers hard drive.

Nothing better to do?

Do you have nothing better to do, than make ridiculous extrapolations, that have nothing to do with you in the first place?

Let's keep things in context. Whatever traffic he can bring in, that's webmaster related, I will gladly host. If my banner is on every page, and it's webmaster related traffic, then I make money selling hosting, right?

One RaQ4i could easily handle 100 gigs/month or so.
Let's assume a fat page averages 50k.
That's about 2 million page views on one server.
Let's assume that 1/1000 users, click on my banners or links.
That's 2000 clickthroughs/month.
I KNOW, that 1/100 of my visitors buy hosting.
That's 20 buyers/month from his visitors.

If you can send me 20 paying clients per month, you can have your own RaQ too!

He will be starting small, and if he becomes any load on my current server, i can have another online at any time. Soon I will have a redundant server in another location, as well.

This is my full time business, and i think long term.

Darren

Dont you have to pay someone for every GB of bandwidth you use buddy? Just dont be saying **** is unlimited when it really is not. This is the last reply, your right it is pointless to argue over this.

agreed

where i host, i get 300 gigs/server. Now a RaQ4 would likely turn INTO a pizza before it got THAT far.

My biggest cost is time for support & marketing. Here's a client that will bring in consistent business, with little need for support, once he's set up.

I dont offer anything, without doig the math. My math is solid.
