How to log AIM conversation?

Hi there,

I have been searching around to software add-on for AIM to automatically log down all conversation.

Any idea on that? I don't want to use trillian because it has some conflict with my laptop.

Download AIM 4.4, it's an older version, but comes with logging installed. I can upload to whoever wants it. It doesn't have all the 5.0+ features, but it's perfect for me.

Or you can buy DeadAIM.

What are the features that 5.0 has and 4.4 doesn't?

Basically I just need to IM / receive IM people. Nothing more than that, even receiving files.

Where can I get 4.4?

Use trillian. It puts all your IM's in 1 program, AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ. It has logging built into it. www.trillian.cc If you just want to use it for AIM, thats fine as well, it even runs at a lower CPU usage than AIM does..

You can get it from oldversion.com, but that's not the original and they put stuff in it. Here's the file that I use.

http://xeimo.com/AIMStaff44.zip

I don't know exactly what is in the newer versions, but I do know I don't need them. AIM 4.4 is a "Staff" version, it never was released, but was leaked. I guess the logging never was liked by the beta testers, since it was never added.

I also tried Trillian Pro 1.0 back in the day, never liked that either. I just use 4.4 and don't worry about upgrading.

As I stated before, it does not have all the options that the 5.0+ versions do. I would never use the voice chat or the other features in a millions years. Although the multiple screen name options in 5.5 is nice, I don't have more then 1 account for one computer.

Did anyone mention DeadAIM? jdennis.net and for $5 you've got logging, tabs, et cetera.

I use DeadAIM3 which was free and AIM4.8 from the MyIM site, personally.

I agree with LinuxAdmin, IMGrabber. Used it alot in the past.

2 things about this thread:
To "The Dude": He said he didn't need anything else besides send/recieve IMs. Your post was completely useless, not to mention that is0lized even said that it didn't have all the features.
To "Trifolic": He said that trillian did not work on his machine. Read closer.
