Extremely dis-satisfied with 1and1.com

We bought a dedicated server from 1and1 2 days ago. I was advertised with 100 license Plesk. We come to find out now that their Plesk licenses have been expired and that there is no ETA on the fix. Nice way to do business, sure they will take your money...but don't expect them to deliver, nor get back to you about the problem.

Any Suggestions?

I hate to be another person that chimes in with "You get what you pay for" or "We told you so", so I won't. Have you tried contacting them and escalating a ticket?

I'm sure one of their employees will post here telling you that you've made some sort of mistake and it couldn't possibly be a problem caused by 1&1

If your site is down, it may be time to consider your choice of where you are being hosted at...

Not one to throw mud myself, but I have to agree 1&1 do seem to be starting out here on the wrong foot.

I can't say for sure, but don't they have their own system for server management for the free accounts? At least my free account comes with their own system - although if it's actually their own or a nice interface on top of something else, I can't say.

The dedicated ones are supposed to come with Plesk 7.

i have a better suggestion

have you tried calling your bank and charging it back and finding a host who knows how to deal with clients?

indeed my 1and1 free account also seems to use their own CP system rather than plesk.

the first thing i would do is call them up before attempting a chargeback.
