My other thread got hijacked, so we'll try this again
While looking at all my options, I have come across some interesting setup for collecting monies over the internet.
After asking enough questions, I discovered something very interesting.
"NONE OF US NEED TO USE THESE ONLINE PAYMENT PROCESSORS"
With a few programs .. Like PC Charge PRO on my computer,
And PhpManager, or Drams, and a business bank account...
Your in business.
No gateway fees. No setup fees. No nighmares of a merchant cutting you off the night before you bill everyone.
One online business I know of has a terminal at home, and keys in all his orders manualy. After initial approval of the customer, he then sets them up for their hosting account, and enters all their info into his office computer using PC Authorize. He handles monthly processing by sending out invoices via email, and then batches all his monthly charges on the 30th of every month, using the program. The program has been setup to dial into basically the same way his card terminal does, and gives him a report on all the charges done at ounce.
So, has anyone, who is not in the business of selling merchant accounts, tried other methods of charging their customers ???
