search engine optimization
hi,
i was wondering what is the best way to get the best results for search engines? i know about meta tags and the like, but what about the services that advertise top search engine results? are those worth their money? and if so, which do you recommend? any others ideas on best results? thanks!

I am not sure but I am currently looking at http://www.submitfire.com and they do look interesting. For $49/yr I could probably try it since it is quite risk free.

I don't think submitfire is true search engine optimization, true SEO would be include consultations and all that good stuff.
SubmitFire looks completely automated.

Ive found the best way is to code your site well and make sure your meta tags are all good. I have had a few sites at number 1 on Google and never used any "optimization" services.

There's quite a few good articles at SEOpapers.com (an iNET owner property) that you might be interested in reading. There's one in there for Optimizing for Inktomi. I personally always optimize for Inktomi first, than dependant on budget, use the PFI (pay for inclusion) option for Inktomi, that way it gets listed soon, submit to directories after this, and eventually google will find you and rank you highly.

I wouldn't paid for someone to submitt my site you can do that yourself, and beside submitting to the several hundreds of search engines is a waste seeing how most data comes from just a few searchengines and directorys

I recomend www.i4market.com a local company to myself and I have met with the Marketing Strategist and Owner. Their company has a lot of solid measures in place and deal with very large businesses and methods such as SEO and Custom Marketing. I would give an email to bboilard@i4market.com and see what Bob can do for you.
I'm not sure if you requested a paying or free solution but if you have the money and want marketing done right I suggest this contact.
PS.
We have not launched our marketing campaign yet, If you or anyone wants an update on mine and the results let me know.

Make sure you have really good content and that your Meta tags reflect your content. Many search engines now place content before Meta tags now as they have changed how they rate sites.

You don't need to submit website, legitimate search engines will find you if you have links from other website.
To learn SEO or find SEO consultant, you can go to SEO forum like: http://www.ihelpyouservices.com/forums/ or http://www.webmasterworld.com/
Finally, do not trust anyone that can guarantee you rank top in search engine.

Google does not give a damn about meta tags. It does however care about IBL's. (Inbound Links).
If you want some good info on google and how to rank well there check out http://www.webworkshop.net
If you want high PR IBL's in quantity, then talk to me

That site list(or offers this software)
Fantomas ,Industrial-strength cloaking
correct me if I am wrong but will not this (cloaked pages) get you URL/domain banned by google?
(seems to me I have read this at googles website)

Hi Grace,
"spamming" using cloaking WILL get you banned yes. Many many top corporations and companies however use cloaking every day legitimately. Meaning they use the cloaking to deliver relevant on topic content based on the keywords targetted by the coaking.
2 completely differant areas.
