LOL. They are just talking about data transfer you do at shared ssl space. ( That's a different account probably )

I think you could ask the host what they mean. It is possible that they will host your pages which you need with SSL on a separate server. They know better what they mean.

When you access pages through a shared SSL, the transfer is not automatically credited to your account. Hence, special allowances will have to be made. Many hosts ignore the bandwidth transfer through shared SSL by customers. However, some customers tend to abuse this and have all their users access their pages through a secure connection.

It depends. If you are just using the shared SSL for a one or two which is pure html text then it is quite a lot. If your whole site needs to be accessed via SSL then it is probably too little.
What do you intend to use the SSL for ?

Depends. I would supposed the SSL would be used only after the payment page and if that is the case, it should be alright.
Just an example here, supposed your payment page is 25kb and the payment confirmation page another 25kb in size. Which means that each successful web order would take up 50kb of space then it means that the 50mb will accomodate (50,000 / 50kb) = 1,000 transactions a month.
Would that be enough ? Of course if the web pages are smaller then you could have more.
If you are a busy web store like Amazon.com, it probably not be sufficient but if you are a small store then it probably be sufficient. Then again, I guess since this is a new venture and that you are using a shared SSL instead of your own SSL certificate, you probably be starting off with a small level of orders at the offset. It should be sufficient.

Well. Personally I don't think shared SSL is a good solution at all, especially if you are doing Ecommerce. The image is wouldn't strike confidence in a client who's about to entrust their credit card or other confidential information to you. On top of that, some people may not understand why the page redirects to another domain and that may just kill a sale for you.
Invest in a dedicated SSL certificate. It will pay for itself.

Yup i read about that some where too.
My friend who is hosting under me is asking me to provide free shared SSL to him. According to him he say that some other hosting company is offering that.
I wasn't sure that it can be done at the beginning and don't really understand what it means by shared ssl. But now i have a better understand after doing some research and help given by members of WHT.
And i totally agree with you. Thank you
Regards.
