recommendations for reliable hosting companies comparison sites + considerations
Hello,
I currenty have a website which is stored in Israel.
The site consumes about 70MB of files and 150MB Database
The site has about 10,000 viewed paged by 2,000 unique users a day.
I have terrible problems with my hosting company (Downtime, support, restrictions, price) and I think to move my site to a hosting company in the US (Since I think that most of the hosting companies in Israel suck).
Do you have any recommendations for reliable comparison sites for hosting companies ?
Besides that are there any considerations I should think about when moving the site to the US (99.9% of the users in the site are from Israel) ? Do you think it's a wise idea ?
Thanks in advance,
Roy.

Try http://tophosts.com which gives a list of Hosting companies for your Budget and Space/BW needs.
Your should be fine having your site in the US even if your visitors are mostly in israel, i dont think there should be any noticeable lag.
Good Luck!

ok, some Linux hosting service I had used before:
p4host.com
crediblehost.com
heard good comments about
httpme.com
bluewho.com
you should contact with them, asking some more questions, so you can choose your right provider. good luck.

I recommend http://www.fluidhosting.com . You can't go wrong with these guys. I've been with them for about 10 months of solid service... I'm on a Microsoft server with them.
They are a great bunch of guys and gals working over there with the right attitude. Have a question, you won't be ignored.

Do you have any recommendation for a site that review hosting companies and recommend the best ones ?
To tell you the truth, I'm a bit worried about moving the site to the US since I have some demanding scripts in the site that will be impossible to use enjoyably if they won't function fast (Very active forums, classifieds with 100's of categories, etc), speed is crucial.
Beside that I rather go on a large company (one which hosts at least 30,000 sites), I believe that generally those companies are more reliable and has more resources.
Thanks,
Roy.

In my opinion, there is absolutely no correlation between how many sites a host has and how stable they are. There are many large hosts out there that are just as bad as the small fly-by-night operations.
I'd caution you about sticking to this rule...You may find yourself paying more for less (not just in monetary terms).

O.K, would you suggest to judge the quality of a hosting company without actually move you site to it ?
That's why I want links to sites that do reviews on hosting companies.
BTW, I do believe that if a company has bad service/bad reliability they will not live for long.
