We are currently building a backup solution to sell to hosts and individuals, in mind we have the following:
ssh file transfer access only
private dedicated ip per account
no regular http or ftp access
10/100 port
10 to 1 ratio (10 gig transfer - 1gig storage)
multiple 10 to 1 accounts combined as needed (same ip)
hardened, managed servers
I wouldn't send my data to a cheap solution provider without knowing it was safe and secure. As a host you have a responsibility to give your customers the same security you provide on your servers with a backup of their data..wouldn't you agree.
Are you sending your control panel passwords and usernames to any old shared server for backup? This data in the wrong hands could kill your business!
