ValueWeb is currently offering the following server at $59 a month.

AMD DURON 1300
512 MB RAM
60 GB HARD DRIVE
1000 GB DATA TRANSFER

They appear to be a reputable company considering they were PC Magazine's editors choice in 2003.

My questions are as follows:

- Is this a decent server at $59 a month.

- How many average sized web sites could this server hold and operate?

It depends on what your definition of average sized web sites and what are the site contents are ? Static web pages would usually not be as taxing as say dynamic web pages powered by scripts and database access.

I understand your point about the web sites (they do vary in size and functionality).

My next question is to the server itself. How does this compare to other servers that can be leased at the same price?
