Does anyone use Win2003Server Edition to run game servers?
Any pros or cons vs Win2000 Server Edition?
Thank you!

While I've never used a 2k3 server for gaming purposes, I don't see why it couldn't be done. 2K3 is just much more specific on share permisions and other security aspects than 2K was. What game are you thinking of running. I could test it out on one of our test servers at the office tomorrow.

Do you mean Standard edition, web edition or ?
I've played a bit on a 2003 Standard Edition. You have to be careful which Gfx card you use, because none of the drivers for the Gfx cards are "approved by microsoft", and I have had some problems with getting them to work (mainly ATI).

Steam apparantly runs better on Windows...although I can only pass that information on as unconfirmed (we haven't got around to trying it yet)

If you're just looking to run the server off of 2K3 Server, you shouldn't need to worry about gfx drivers.

Ups, maybe I should have read the question...
Well, for stability, 2003 looks great, and yes, no need to worry about gfx card when talking game servers..

My friend uses Windows 2003 for gaming. From what i've seen, he hasn't had any problems.

We have over 100 clients already and are thinking of converting from Win2000Server to Win2003, All of the standard games need to run smoothly on it.

America's Army runs fine on windows 2003, and it's build on the UT engine, so UT should do ok.!
