Opinions on CDGCommerce vs 2CO (and questions, too)

Okay, right now, I am VERY highly impressed with CDGCommerce, especially after speaking with Chris. He answered every question that I had, showed a bit of a kick-*** personality, and is clearly Customer Service oriented, something that seems to be lacking in today's business world.

What I would like to know from you all (and yes, even Chris himself) is the following questions. Please, don't answer this if you have under 30 posts, I'd like to hear from seasoned WHT'ers. No disrespect meant to the newer guys.

First and foremost, are you 100% satisfied with CDG?

Have you experienced any problems receiving payments at any given time?

Have you consistently received excellent support?

For those of you that have both CDG and 2CO, which do you prefer?

For those of you with PerlBill, have you managed to integrate with CDG's gateway (Not Authorize.net's gateway)?

Chris, I know you said that you'd be willing to work with me to get it working with PerlBill, so don't answer the above question, LOL!

And now, some questions for Chris... I forgot to ask these earlier, but felt that everyone would benefit.

How often are payments made, and in what method?

Are Monthly Statements required? I have my own payment system/audit system so I really don't need to reconcile but once a year.

How long does it take for eCheck Payments to clear?

Chargebacks, how are they handled? I've had YET to have one chargeback in the 3+ years I've been with PayPal.

Refunds, how are they handled?

Do you handle international currencies/credit card payments?

I think this covers the questions that I've got... for now. Thanks in advance, gang!

Well, I know one thing that Chris will just give the advice that best fits your situation even if it means losing your business.

I have dealt with Chris quite a lot. In our case, he suggested us to go with 2CO and Paypal (because of our type of biz and other factors). I do occasionally contact him for help in payment related matters and always get quick and great response.

So if he says he can do things 1, 2, and 3 for you, I am very sure he will deliver on his promise.

Just my 2 cents based on my experience.

Thanks.

Hi Prism,

Chris is very well versed in the area of Merchant Accounts and his services are highly regarded.

If your business is ready for a merchant account vs a 3rd party payment processor, and youre happy with your communications with Chris as well as trust his opinion and direction (which you should!), then I can see no reason why you shouldnt proceed.

My only thought is to make sure perlbill will integrate before proceeding, or look for an alternative to perbill (which may or may not be viable).

I would recommend CDG. The customer service that is provided just incredible. The process of signing up, is exactly as described. I have experience problems with some of the other marketed merchant account here on WHT.

I have dealt with Chris on many occasions, and the comments in this forum (and on the rest of WHT) are not unfounded. He has to be one of the most knowledgable/honest people out there when it comes to merchant accounts/providers.

If you are US based and in need of an online processing solution, you can't steer wrong by going with CDGCommerce. Besides their superb customer service, their prices (http://cdgcommerce.com/whtpromo) are qutie attractive.

Good work Chris, hopefully we'll chat again soon.

Chris has responded to my questions regarding payment services in a previous thread. Since then, I have been exchanging emails with Chris for the last week (at least ten emails). His replies has always been prompt and detailed, even though I am not a customer yet. Amazing service!

I will be signing up with CDG in one or two weeks, once I get some other stuff done.

Any CDGCommerce specific questions need to be emailed directly to their sales email: sales@cdgcommerce.com. I'm going back now to clean up this thread....

I wish Chris was able to offer an account to Canadian merchants, too...

If it was a reasonable price I'd get one from him.

Well, I for one also wish that we'd be able to offer Canadian merchant accounts.

But for those Canadians of you here, you may want to check into PSI-Gate and PaySystems. In particular, I've heard good things about PSI-Gate from a number of Canadian folks that I've spoken with.
