Unofficial WHT 2004 Global Film Awards, NOMINATIONS PLEASE
Morning people
This is just an idea that has been on my non news thread drawing board for a while but no longer.
Here is how it will work >>
There will be 3 categories which are "Best Film", "Best Actor" and "Best Actress".
The 4 most popular will go to the vote plus one runner up.
To be eligable for the final vote as a runner up, there must be at least two nominations.
The same actor/actress can not hold more than one position in the vote for multiple films.
Finally ALL nominations must have had their world premiere in 2003 or by the end of the week beginning Monday 5th January.
Seems simple enough.
So, NOMINATIONS??

How do we know if it has had a World Premiere? Those usually take a few months to get that far out.

Ah, well for example LOTR the last one had its world premiere in New Zealand didn't it but you do have a point.
Ok, if in doubt your nation's premiere has to have been between this upcoming Sunday and Jan 1st 2003.
I was just trying to gibe it a global touch, heck The Last Samurai is only coming out in Britain this week, that is why the deadline is extended until the end of this week.
I'm deciding on Best Film myself, i've got it down to two, might have to toss a coin.
You don't have to nominate in ALL three if you don't wish but you can if you have made your mind up on them.

Ok i tossed for it, they weren't as commercial as some, it was between "Whale Rider" and "Touching the Void"; the latter won out.
So my nomination for Best Film is "Touching the Void"

So that's tion for Best Actress is0lized, ok.
I must say at the minute that we are a bit thin on the ground for Best Actor and everything [nominations wise] really, you know i really though this one would fly, guess not.
I might have my nomination for Best Actor decided on though.
Just thought i would mention that at the British Premiere of The Last Samurai last night Tom Cruise went on walkabout for 2 hours in British weather talking, signing autographs and talking on mobiles; whether genuine or not and i like to think it is, there are many celebs who just wave once and then leave the crowds standing at these events [Britney Spears made a HUGE clanger a few years back, boos and all] so good on him for that.

Can't say that they would be on my list but you are right i can't see that happening at the Oscars but the same would apply to Touching the Void.
My nomination for Best Actor will go to Tom Cruise for The Last Samurai.
Some will go for Kidman as Best Actress in Cold mountain but there is no way i could do that with what i've seen and more with what i've heard and that awful accent, i thought it was bad.
