Good Bandwidth Cheap in Chicago
Hello,
My company is currently working on a new setup in Equinix in Chicago. We will be purchasing large amounts of bandwidth and a couple cages. I was wondering if anyone here wuld like to be in on the ground floor, we would charge you just above cost for pretty much everything. Bandwidth would start at about $60 for 10mb/sec and rack space for $25 a u. The bandwidth will be top rate, guaranteed, with providers such as Allegience, Aleron, AboveNet, Peer1, Internap, Global Crossing, and Yipes. The only problem is you will need to wait 6 months for us to be fully setup. We will likely be moving our equipment in in 3-4 months, but we want to slowly ramp up and make sure everything is working before putting bigger customers in.
Please respond to this thread with questions or email me at karl@steadfastnetworks.com if you're interested.

I assume you mean $60 for 10MB/s means $60/MB/s starting at 10MB.....right? $600 for 10MB/s.
It has always surprised me a little on the boards when people visit Equinix here they say there is a lot of room for more servers in the facility but it the space there is very expensive. Does not make much sense to me, I guess they would rather charge a premium and keep the riff raff out.
Anywho, interested.

Yes, thanks for the clarification, $60 per mb/sec and getting cheaper with more after 10mb/sec. Right now I don't want to deal with anything under 10mb/sec.
If you get a good amount of space with them the pricing isn't too bad.
Again, if anyone is interested, please email me saying how much rackspace and bandwidth you're interested in. karl@steadfastnetworks.com

The way it's looking we'll be using ServerCentral bandwidth in addition to our own links. Our own links are going to be with at least a couple of the following companies, Global Crossing, Verio, Allegience, XO, AboveNet, or a couple other Tier 2's. Basically looking for the best values around. Anyone got any suggestions?

As it seems this would have a good deal of interest I will see if I can get things going earlier and then I will post it again here with all of our product offerings. For you though, it'll be best to contact me ahead of time because when we open the new services the starting price will likely be $75-100 per mb/sec.
