I am planning a trip to Las Vegas and Los Angeles in the next two weeks with some friends.
Anyone been there? Live there?
What are some 'must-see' sites in Vegas (besides the strip) and Los Angeles?
Can anyone suggest any good tour options in Los Angeles?
Thanks

Vegas is AWESOME, I would honestly say just stick to the strip as it been to be a bit cleaner than downtown and the hotels rock.. There is no much to do there that it is really hard to give you an idea because there is so much available but I would suggest just taking the day and walking the strip and playing a couple games at each of the casinos as it is really amazing.
As far as hotels I can recommend The Mirage and Excalibur for some of the nicer ones and Westward Ho and Circus Circus for something with a little better price which is usually what I go with.
Also be sure and check out some of the shows they have depending on what you like and the ny ny ride is pretty good along with the indoor amusement park at circus circus.
/me hopes to get the wife to fly soon so we can take a trip next year..
Either way have a blast..

Mandalay Bay hotel was having big discounts (Discounts of $350+ a night) a few months ago, i don't know if they still are, i was planning on going there this winter, but never made it, my neighbors went with their kid and the wife's sister.

mantra, live in L.A. (just south of L.A. actually), but I'm not sure what you are interested in seeing? What intrests you? More of the Universal Studios/Disney type thing, or Bevery Hills/Rodeo Dr., Sunset Strip/clubs, Santa Monica Pier/3rd street/Venice boardwalk, Hollywood/Chinese Theatre (as previously mentioned), studios, television sets (a bit late to get into a show now), comedy clubs ??? It's a big place. Lots to see and do.

I live near LA right now...
Maybe post more of your interests? It's hard to suggest things without knowing a bit more what you're into.
I primarily focus on the "natural" attractions in the area... lots of great hiking and scenic views and so forth.
As far as must-see in LA, I would strongly suggest a drive up the Pacific Coast Highway, which runs alongside the ocean for many miles. There's great views of the ocean, and the roads down to the coast are great.

yes, the normal los angeles stuff (hollywood, movie star homes, etc.) .. I have seen some tours online, all of them seem to be taking the same route..
how about grand canyon? anyone suggest the best way to see that without wasting an entire day? We were thinking of helicopter ride.

Can anyone recommend the best attractions to see at various casinos? I know the ride at Stratosphere is a must-see, what else?
