wideopenwest.com Hosting Spammers

It'll be very rare that i try to steer people away from a particular company/service but i hate spam, so this one annoyed me.

I had a client that got up one day to find about a dozen failed delivery reports in his inbox, the original mail was spam, you know the typical online perscription/health ones, and they were using something like onlineperscription@hisdomain.com as the return address.

So i had a look at the headers, the original spam came from 233.49.197.173 / d14-69-50-62.try.wideopenwest.com so i sent off an email to their listed abuse address clearly marked "Spam/Abuse Report" to explain they were hosting a spammer that was using one of my clients domains in his return path, and what did i get back today?

It's no wonder our inboxes are flooded so much when there's entire ISP's that don't even open abuse reports

So please stay away from wideopenwest.com aka WOW Internet

Not sure what i wanted from this thread, just wanted to rant a bit i think.

ahh the old automatically send read/reply reciepts.... busted...

However their spam/abuse email address may be distributed to many of the staff, so maybe only 1 deleted it. Just a thought.
