Canadian with CC question

Hey guys,

I recently signed up at 2checkout to process monthly payments for web hosting services. My problem is, although I can show the purchases to my clients in Canadian funds, I must bill them in American dollars which means every month, I have to recalculate the exchange to bill them properly.

Does anyone know of a way I can have 2CO automatically calculate the exchange and bill the proper amount in US funds?

Also, does anyone have a better solution to my problem in the form of another company? I'm only collecting a small amount so I don't want to pay monthly/yearly fees.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

A US merchant account (for Canadian merchants) from a company like PSIgate would resolve this issue for you (customers would be charged in US funds - they would perform the exchange and deposit Canadian funds into your account.

There would be monthly fees (as is the case with most Merchant Account providers).

Your best bet for now may be to stay with 2checkout and make the switch at a later date when the volumes start increasing.

Hope this helps...

I recently emailed 2CO and asked about this as I'll have to also charge in canadian currency. They said it would be no problem. Have you contacted them about this?.

Hmmm, I left a message with them. When I first talked to them, they told me they can only charge in US funds.. do you mean they will do the conversion and charge the customer ?

Paypal can do that for you, I wouldn't rely on it though.
