Just doing a review of the last 2 hosts that I had.
Host Name:
Pixiehost, Pixie Host
Hosted Plan: Bronze, $6.95/month 300MB, 5GB
Datacenter: HE.net (I believe).
Hosted Time: April 23 - October 14 2003
Rating: B+
Initial setup: Amazing! I ordered at roughly 1:30am (CST), account was setup no more than 20 minutes later! I loved how they billed my credit card directly, avoided the middle man.
Speed of sites: When we lived in north Texas, using Verizon DSL, it was great, couldn't be happier. When we moved back to central Texas, using Sprint DSL, it was slow to connect (NOT pixiehost's fault, was ISP's fault).
Support: Amazing. They answered all of my questions, and even helped me with a few scripts. Very quick responses.
Reason for leaving: The ISP issue was one of the main reasons. Sprint wouldn't work with me on the issue, and they're the only provider in this area. I also left to develop my other 2 domains that were serving as pointers at the time.
Would I recommend? Yes, cheap prices and great support!

Host Name:
FastEzHosting, FastEz Hosting
Hosted Plan: Custom Reseller, 500mb/10GB $10/month
Datacenter: Ev1.net then moved to ThePlanet
Hosted Time: October 15 - December 29
Rating: C
Initial setup: Good, I had to pay via paypal, and I've never used it before, so I had to be walked through it.
Speed of sites: Amazing, this was my first hosted site at EV1, and since I'm in Texas too, it was fast.
Support: It was okay, had some issues that they were willing to work with me on. Denver (CrazyTech here) was helpful. He was the only support guy I came in contact with. It almost seemed he ran the whole show. Downfall was that they didn't respond 24/7 (I understand that it can be expensive and tedious to do this).
Reason for leaving: Got tired of not being informed of happenings. When they moved to ThePlanet, my forum's domain and data fell off the face of the WWW. Due to HDD issues (that's what they said to me). The next day, all sites were down 15+ hours, and again, my forum's domain & data was lost. HDD issues again, he says.
Would I recommend? No.
Lessons learned:
Back up sites and back up often!
Who am I with now?
Rochen, but that's another review for another time.
Thank you for reading.
