US Postal Orders

I have a client who wants to pay by postal order? Should I let him pay by postal order.

The problems are...

How do I cash them?
Can you cash US postal order in the UK?

I'm from Canada and I know that you can cash US postal orders here and Canadian postal orders there, I'd assume you'd be able to but I'm not sure. You would normally cash them at your bank or in some cases a post office.

In the US you can deposit or cash them at a bank just like a check, not sure about the UK but i'd assume so, they trust us to pay right?

You could always phone up a local bank or post office and ask about it.

There could be fees... I've been with several banks that charge unexpected fees on cashing or depositing checks drawn on foreign banks. Some of them were not even upfront about the fee, just apeared on my statment at the end of the month. Definitely ask if there are any fees involved.
