Cheaper than paypal.

Any other payment options that take less money out of a transaction than paypal does.

It seems they are 2.90%? Are you looking for a third party processor or your own merchant account?

Your own merchant account is cheaper as far as discount rates / transaction rates. A third party is going to be higher because of the risks.

CDGcommerce offers true merchant accounts, not third-party processing, they take out 2.25% + $0.30 (maybe $0.35) per transaction, but there are monthly fees adding to about $25 a month.

If you move a lot of money, it's worth to pay the monthly and get the merchant account. If you don't move a lot of money, stay with PayPal.

Correct, if you are going to process over $1,000 a month - go with your own. This normally covers a monthly minimum of $25.00 that some processors do require. With you processing $1,000 at 2.25%, that is $22.50 a month. You would still be respsonsible for $2.50 but as long as the discount rate totals more than $25.00 a month, you have nothing to worry about.

I suggest to most of my clients to keep paypal there as an option. So many people do use that to transfer money back & forth, it could not hurt & just helps to expand your business. But only using Paypal does not look professional in my opinion and others.

As the above posters said, you really don't need the extra expense of a merchant account if you aren't doing much business per month anyway.
