I was just poking about online and came across this:

http://www.e-scrub.com/wpoison/

It's a spam-bot killer, and essentially feeds a bot fake generated email addresses for as long as it takes to 'fill' the bot. The obvious problems of CPU churn and data transfer seem to be covered in this version, and it works via hidden links designed to spiral a bot into obvilion and choke it on crap (and make the resulting spam-merchant's list useless).

Does anyone have some experience on these things and can they recommend/avoid them? I'm thinking about 'hiding' my mailto: addresses but prefer the simple "Poke this" for people as everyone is used to it and doesn't have to think about it (the K.I.S.S principle).
