How Reliable Is PaySystems?

I am getting a merchant account soon and although I was leaning towards a proper/real merchant account becuase of reliabilty I have been put off by the enormous costs considering i'm outside the US.

From third party processors I need to decide between 2checkout and PaySystems. I am pretty confident about 2checkout's reliabilty however since it seems that PaySystems has recently reduced its rates it has become more attractive to me.

I would like your opinion of PaySystems whether its reliable or not as I have have already had accounts with HostCharge and Instabill when they crashed and burned and I don't want to repeat that.

2CO is better in my opinion.

Btw, the new paysystems rates are just a trick to get you tempted. Read the fine print carefully.

I think the rates are still 3.95% + $1 OR 5.5% + 35 cents

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks.

Paysystems has been around for some time - pretty stable. If you have a US bank Account & a Federak tax ID number - you are able to get a merchant account as well. There is another active thread in this forum that just started about obtaining a merchant account while overseas.

Problem with getting a US Tax ID or Incorporatig for me is that I would have to pay US taxes.

In Pakistan there is a decade long tax holiday for IT related companies.

Paysystems have peaks and troughs. They are fairly stable but support can sometimes be fairly poor and the MCC has slow days.

Consider incorporating in Delaware.

even in Delaware or Nevada I would still have to pay Federal taxes.

I'm in the same position. I was going to go with paysystems, but I decided that I'll probably go with 2checkout. Reason is because I want to customize the payment page to reflect my own design.

Although since the MCC upgrades, the MCC is much faster. I do a LOT of searching through the MCC database, and it's 5 times faster now.

You would of course want to check things out with a tax person but one way may be to incorporate in the US and then not have it earn any profit -- have it subcontract your pakistan corporation.

Go to Nauru or Vanuatu arrange an offshore shell compagny with phony administration board. Go to Lichtenstein open a secret bank account. Get a Guernesey branch office where you bring your profits and have residence in Bahamas next to a pool with young half naked beautiful belly dancers.

They had their share if problems, but they ahve been pretty sable for almost a year (early 2003 is the time they had some problems with databses and MCC).

Overall, I think they are better than the other companies I looked at.
