Affordable Server setup/Admin/Management company
Hello All,
Apart from (easyservermanagement.com, cheetaweb.com, and bobcares.com),
Do you know of a "Reputed and Affordable" Server setup/Admin/Management company?
Need to get our SM server setup, secured, monitored, and managed 24/7/365.
The server came with silver management plan as can be seen at: http://servermatrix.com/managed_services.html
Please provide website URL of any such company.
I got many PMs, but most of them don't have a website that I can look at to see their services.
Note: We are 'not' going to resell any hosting plans etc. The server will just have our own dating sites.
Thanks.

Talk to Ryan/Teck7 at r-fx.org....He's great, and probably do it for a good price.

If you use a higher level of support from ServerMatrix than the Silver Plan, you'll be fine. Why bother outsourcing?

Actsupport.com
Touchsupport.com
However, I would imagine you may run into the same sales response issues that you encountered elsewhere with either of these this week.....
My advice would be to get someone trustworthy to set it up and secure it now and take a bit more time making your decision on who you want to manage it long term.

I know that silver plan comes with many great things such as OS/security/kernal updates etc.
Which level you think will be adequate given the fact that I have never managed server? And how would I select the services as the various plans ask for choose 6 of this or choose 9 of this. I really don't know which are more important and which one should I select. But I am right now looking at all available options though
Thanks.

A representative from www.wemanageservers.com also posts on here; you may want to contact them for pricing as well. They seem quite knowledgeable.

They are most qualified and excellent. I only failed to mention them based on the price range which the poster appeared to be looking for.

dynamicnet is the user from wemanageservers.com , and rickkumar: Doesn't SM have a live helpdesk? They would be the best ones to ask!

Greetings Incognito:
Thank you for your kind words.
You never know if it is a fit until you talk; but I understand the point of view.

I use easyservermanagement, and they are really good at what they do, most of the others mentioned here , I have also heard of, and have heard nothing but good about them , so I think you have some excellent choices of well respected company's, however as some mentioned above , since SM offers this service and they also have a good reputation here , that would be something I would also look at.

Well I called SM support but there are lot of grey areas even if you buy their highest plan. The tech rep told me to open a sales RFQ ticket and said sales may answer this ticket from home as they are on vacation. I don't really know if there plans cover issues such as setup SM's NAS/FTP backup, restore system using backed up data in case the need ever arise etc. etc. Plus even the highest plan restricts the admin hours to max. 3/month.
Frankly thats just too expensive for us. We are not a hosting reseller, the system is just for our own dating sites. As SM's silver plan comes with quite a lot of features already such as kernal update, OS and security patches update, monitoring, automatic escalation procedure etc. etc. We have just go the 'SuperResllers' system with RAID-1. We are looking for something around $50/month (or may be 'reasonable' per hour rate) and we need to accomplish the following:
1.) System Initial Setup/secure and help our developer install sites.
2.) Continued System Administration and 24/7 monitoring
3.) Manage external FTP backup that we rented at SM
4.) Restore system from backed up data if ever needed.
5.) Issues Fixed without our notification
So many people have sent me PMs since yesterday to do all this. Most prices are actually very reasonable and fit our budget. But most people don't have a site or something that we can look at to see their services and testimonials (There are few with sites that I am going to contact). How would you approach this decision making?
Any comments/suggestions?
Thanks.

I have several servers with Voxtreme.com and i use their fully managed server options. They do everything for you as if it was a shared hosting account. Provide excellent support and uptime...I would recommend contacting them.

We already bought the server at SM yesterday. You think Voxtreme.com will manage our server at SM?
Thanks for response.
Regards.
