Name servers

Name servers

I have a Linux reseller account WHM/Cpanel and my own 2 Custom Name servers ns1.mycompany.com and ns2.mycompany.com based on the 2 IPs that I was giving by my provider
I'm planning to get a small windows reseller account with another provider can I use ns3.mycompany.com and ns4.mycompany.com.

Thanks for your help.

Theoretically yes but if you want ns3/ns4 to have the same data as ns1/ns2 then you will need to ask to have the windows servers configured as such.

Also all domains would have to be added to the linux account

Thank you for your reply Rus

I don't want to have the same data on the windows reseller account. I just want to offer both Linux and Windows hosting to my customers and keep the name of my company in the ns

My suggestion is to register a new domain for the windows account. Maybe the mycompany.net that way your 2 servers are independant and you windows account will function even if the linux account is down.

Yes you can. Make sure the ns3/ns4 point to your windows reseller.

Remeber that the ns3, ns4 will have to be added to the linux server, and pointed to the windows box, if you go that way.

I thought he could do that through his domain registrar.

No, because the domain.com a record points to the linux box the ns3,4 entries need to be made there as well.
Hence my previous suggestion:
