I dunno. I suppose it varies from country to country? Maybe one of their reps maybe able to clarify.

EDIT: I just noticed on that link, the total rate will still be 3.95% plus $0.35. I have yet to receive an answer from them regarding our inquiry about their transaction charge.

UPDATE: Our own myPaySystems transaction charge is $1 + 4.45%. This is the rate given to us. I don't know why. It could be a mistake or it varies from country to country. I am waiting for their response.

Wow thats a major change from 5.5% to 3.95% if there's no other catch?

Lets see.

I don't believe it was ever 5.5% was it? I know we get charged $1 per transaction on top of the 3.95% though. It's saving that 65c per transaction that I'm interested in. Could add up to a tidy sum.

I know for sure that they had these two suggested rates before:

Plan A: 3.95% + $1 --> for high ticket items vendor

Plan B: 5.5% + 35 cents --> for low ticket intems vendor

But anyone could choose any plan whatever fits their business best.

----------------------------------------
Is it a CATCH?:

I am pretty sure there is a catch in this (3.95% + 35 cents) offer because I see a foot note at the bottom of that rates page which does not look a good sign.....it is more like a confuse and charge more after the vendor signs up!
---------------------------------------

Regards.

I *think* that they have always listed 3.95% + .35 on their Web site as their rate, with some disclaimer that the rate can be "as low as" that.

Let me ask you this question though - when you signed up for PaySystems, did you sign up directly or through a reseller?

Considering most of Paysystem's other tactics I would not doubt for a second that this is a bait and switch maneuver..

MyPaySystems or PaySystems?

I was surprised to see that the PaySystems website changed. Had been there not longtime ago... The rate indicated starts at 2.3% (!) but you need to call them (so I guess it is way above that)...
No trace of 3.95% or 5.5%.
It seems that they now have an other site MyPaySystems with a more "youthfull" looks that actually mentions the older rates they used to show on their PaySystems.com website.
I also tried to see what transaction fee was now associated with the 3.95% mentioned in this thread... not clear....
Well, if you click on Sign Up button at the right of the screen, you get a form where you can select the rate of your choice (3.95% + 1$ or 5.5% + 0.35$) in a drop menu... exactly like on the previous version of the PaySystems.com website.
I don't know why they changed the PaySystems.com website?
It seems as it become more "posh" corporate business gateway.
I would nevertheless like to know how to get the 2.3% rate they mention

Discount Rate (starts at) 1.95%
Credit Card Interchange Rates 2.00%

PaySystems base rates are:

Plan A: 3.95% and $1 per transaction
Plan B: 5.5% and $0.35 per transaction.

We allow the merchant to choose what package is right for them.

Generally, Plan A is for per transaction ticket prices greater than $40 and Plan B is for smaller ticket items like a recurrring web hosting package.
