PDU's For colo in open Rack

I am going to be getting open air chatsworth racks and I need a PDU.

What is recommended (APC Brand or not) that I should use to provide power and RRP?

I need something that will work on a chatsworth. Preferebly vertical but I guess any normal rackmount one would do.

Thanks

We use APC AP9211
their 1u, remote reboot units.

The newer ones are even nicer, but I can't justify the added cost. Also, its not a bad idea to run these on a nuetral network.

APC is a good choice but only for horizontal. I would reccomend getting a BayTech for a vertical mount one, they offer many more outlets and we have had better luck with them.

PM me as I have a good source for cheap Chatsworth racks, but don't want to give out the guys email on the board.

I see.

I would send a APC to them then. Most colo centers have cable raceway in the middle of the open racks, and they probably are not going to remove them to install your PDU.

Thats strange they don't provide you one.

I would really check with your provider about that, if you are leasing a Full rack, they probably don't / won't be mounting PDU on the side of the racks for you.

I would call them or you can use:

http://www.apc.com/resource/include/...CountryCode=US

which would work in any 19 inch wide racks (US STANDARD) even if you are getting a 23 inch wide rack they make reducer brackets for switches PDU which mosts hosts should have if they use 23 Inch wide racks.

Hope that helps.
