Windows CP Questions

Maybe you all can help me answer a couple of questions:

After browsing this forum for a bit I've found that a majority of the Windows users seem to be in favor of H-Sphere. Upon viewing the H-Sphere demo, the interface seems to look a tad unprofessional for my tastes (ie ugly as all hell). Is H-Sphere skinnable? Is there something I don't know about it?

My second question is regarding Plesk 6.5 for Windows. This control panel looks very nice, excellent features, etc. Does anybody have this running yet? Is it as cool as I think it is?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

We're in the same boat, wintonio. I don't like H-Sphere because of it's appereance, so I'm going to download Plesk free demo and install it on my Win2k Server.

I don't have my box up and running yet, or I would do the same. Please let me know how you like it.

Plesk is one of my favorite control panels and their Windows CP version (Plesk 6.5) is very good looking. However, I would recommend that you wait until a little bit longer if you want to deploy it into production. Plesk is known to make a very stable product, but version 6.5 for windows is still very young and may need sometime to mature. You may want to check their forum as well.

I will take your word for that, rey. What I don't understand is why they dont beta test it before they actually market it? It looks so unprofessional.

I believe they did beta test it, but some of the problems were undetected. It was also the shortest beta testing period I know compared to the previous product (I might be wrong).

The good thing is, I have known and experienced their excellent support and I am confident that they are working on every solution as we speak. I'm actually very fond of its look and feel. But I would wait for a little bit more until it is fully matured. Hope this would help

hsphere is *very* skinnable, you can rewrite the whole interface if you wish using templates.

It uses the freemarker technology for templates.

Interesting...
I wish there were third party skin providers for Hsphere...

I believe that with the advent of the 2.4 beta for h sphere since it is as XML capability I believe that skins and third party plug ins will begin to flood in soon.

can't wait to get our beta installed so we can play with some ideas we're been having.
