Looking for a new Merchant

Hello there

I'm looking for a new merchant account who accepts intenational accounts and has a Virtual terminal - I'm selling ad space so the price field has to be adjustable.

WHat do you think of 2checkout.com paysystems.com ?

Any other suggestions? my company is not located in the states so they have to accept international merchants.

Looking forward hearing from you,

My thoughts on 2CO and PaySystems:

2CO: We have used them for about 10 months and didn't really have any issues other than the access problems during the DDOS attacks. We are currently moving our customers to our own merchant account but will retain 2CO as a backup. Recent Support requests through the ticket system have been resolved within a day or so.

PaySystems: Spammers. They admit it and seem to pride themselves on it. There is a lot of good feedback here from companies that use them, however I cannot in good concience do business with a company that prides themselves with spamming. I've said this before, but I do not understand how host's that work hard to prevent spamming from their customers can do business with a company that spams. I just do not understand that.

Worldpay is pretty highly rated for international. I would agree with Matt... PaySystems and 2CO both have some major flaws.

The main problem I have with 2CO, is there "We don't care what you want" attitude towards customers. When a feature is requested they basically say "Piss off" in a (not very) nice way.

I second the thing about 2CO's support.

Each one has their own disadvantage and advantage. However, if I were you, I'd go with a true merchant account. Such as authorize.net and echo-inc.com

Good luck.

I believe echo-inc.com and authorize.net will not accept non-us based businesses.

Please note that PaySystems does not SPAM random internet users- however several of our sales staff do send targeted solicitations to website owners in an effort to attract new business.

Spam is spam. In all cases it is unsolicited. These individuals have no previous contact with your company and you mine places like WHT looking for users that comment they use 2CO and then spam them with a sales pitch.

That is spam no matter how you try to twist it.

Nobody mines WHT looking for users that use 2CO in order to SPAM them- it would be much easier to search 2CO in google.

I do offer to waive the $49 setup fee for merchants that have clearly indicated in a post that they are looking to make the move to PaySystems from 2CO- no complaints yet.

It still surprises me that you are so taken aback by these emails- it is essentially the online version of a cold call.

Paul

Really, you don't mine WHT? Perhaps you should refer to this:

"Sysc,

Pardon the intrusion but from what I understand from posts on Webhostingtalk.com you are having problems with your processing reliability.

That sure looks like mining to me. You purposely search out those who mention they use 2CO and solicit them.

I've recieved unsoliced sales emails from PaySystems. If you don't think there is a problem with sending SPAM and are surprised that the people whom you target react to the SPAM they get from you with hostility Paul, then you need to pull your head out sand.

I'm sure it comes down to a numbers game, because if you weren't getting new sign-ups from those efforts, you wouldn't be doing it. That being said, that type of behavior will damage your reputation...especially in the field of Web Hosting Companies.

I thought sales contacts via PM were strictly forbidden here?

At any rate it wasn't but a day or two after I posted in a 2CheckOut being down thread that I received a phone call from Paysystems wanting to waive the $49.00 fees if I left 2Checkout. I did fax in an application (per their requirements) containing all my personal information, which they promptly lost. It took them days of me inquiring about status before they had the nerve to ask me to fax all that information over again. Sorry, if you lose my application containing all that information I am not going to give you the opportunity to do the same with my money. The best part is this; I sent them an email telling them there is no way I would do business with them considering their incompetence in handling the application. That email wasn't even displayed on my sales rep's computer until about 6 weeks later.

At any rate a merchant account is the very best way to go and they are not as expensive as you might think. Check out cdgcommerce.com for their WHT special. If you are not willing to use a merchant account, then 2Checkout would be my choice.
