That security is not top concern for many small companies is
no secret. Do you people think there would be any potential
in a low cost email subscription system sending out detailed
information regarding the OS / distros that a host use?
E.g they signup and enter what distro, kernel, apache etc.
they use, and receve a detailed report every time a bug is
discovered, explaining them what the hole does, and a command
line way to fix the problem and also addtional sorces for
information.
If I decide to start this type of server I guess I would charge
$10-$20 /month from each host on the subscription.
IF this is something that we will start I will gather a team
of experts in security to make sure quality of
service / information provide is top notch.
Would there be room for a service like this?
