Alrighty.

I am helping owner and xeoHosting getting merchant account and internet gateway setup.

I have a major question as http://www.cdgcommerce.com is the reseller of AUTHNET we chose. They ask for some very secure numbers such as Drivers licence number, social security, date of birth, address, all that stuff.

Well,

1) Is http://www.cdgcommerce.com a good reseller to go with? Anyone have experience with them?

2) Are they secure?

3) Is it risky to submit info such as drivers licence number?

Ask them what they will be doing with this information, how it is stored and who will have access to it. If they can not give you answers that satisfy you then move on to someone else.

I've not done business with this particular company however I'd be more inclined to go with an actual bank who are auth.net resellers. Just my personal take on it

steve: drivers licence number, social security, date of birth, address etc r all required information 2 run a credit check, which is usually involved in applying for a merchant account. so collecting such information is actually a common pratice. just make sure the company u r dealing with is legimate. have u contacted authnet to see if they r an authorized reseller?
