How to Calculator my bandwidth

Hello.
My server have been purchase 3 month ago . And a date for my billing cycle is 16th of each month . But i dont know how they calculator my bandwidth ? Form a 1st of a month or from a 16th of month ? This is my MRTG :
The statistics were last updated Monday, 1 December 2003 at 4:26,
at which time 'ATL-2924-AD' had been up for 123 days, 4:09:36.
Last 30 days usage (Metered 95%): 7285.63 kb/sec
Last 30 days usage (Metered 95%): 2305218.86 MBytes
Total Utilization ( Last 30 days ): [In 993033 MBytes] [Out 46398 MBytes]
So , could anyone tell me how much bandwidth it left to over bandwithd limit ( theu gave me 1000G /month )
My server is DV2 server.
Thank you and sorry for my very bad english

Did they give you 1000GB in total, or 1000GB incoming and 1000GB outgoing bandwidth? If they gave you 1000GB in total, you basically have 500GB outgoing and 500GB incoming bandwidth available, which would mean you are 493GB over te limit. That could cost you a lot actually.

If you have 1000GB incoming and 1000GB outgoing, you are not over the limit.

they give me 1000G in and 1000G out . And my MRTG now is :

Last 30 days usage (Metered 95%): 7371.78 kb/sec
Last 30 days usage (Metered 95%): 2332477.26 MBytes
Total Utilization ( Last 30 days ): [In 1001539 MBytes] [Out 46689 MBytes]

So this mean i am over bandwidth ? But do you know when will my bandidth calculator restart ?

You could contact your web host and check with them their bandwidth computation policy. They should know better.

Ahhh looks like you're using transact, I myself when I was with them had the very same confusion. I would like to direct you to the problem I had with them, and their MRTG.http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...burton+hosting

That's just a small problem we had. What caused a large amount of confusion was the fact that the usage never resets to 0 at any time. When you reach your 30 days, after that it will knock off the the 31st day that was in the stats and so on. So technically you can't really tell how much you're doing so far in the month because you always have stats in there from your last billing period. Now you're probably saying, "well that's stupid", welcome to the club! Now if you want to monitor how much you're doing, you should install your own MRTG and use traffic.php to calculate how much you've been doing and that can at least give you an idea where you stand.

My recommendation to you, would be to monitor your traffic closely, and use their mrtg and record the dates and times of when you get the values. Because when it comes time, they will say you "went over", when in actual fact you didn't. That is my warning to you.

Also if you read my post, you will also find out that the MRTG they provide means squat when it comes to billing. They don't give you access to the real usage that they use to bill you for, which is unprofessional in my opinion. For example, imagine the water company putting a meter outside of your house to show your usage, but that meter basically means nothing and they say at the end of the month you actually did this much, we don't use that meter.
So you're probably saying, "Well what's the point of the MRTG they provide then?", Welcome to the club!

From my experience the MRTG they provide, is just a nice little graphic with green and blue and purple and some other color i can't remember. Other than that it's useless for you, me, and anyone else that has a server and wants to monitor their traffic usage.

Cheers

No, you are not over bandwidth limit, it's today the first of december so a new monthly calculation starts today. I would highly recommend you purchase a bulk bandwidth block for this comming month if you are planning to use more bandwidth than you are using at the moment, since that's a lot cheaper than overage bandwidth.

For any questions like these it's usually best to contact the datacenter directly.
