Go to Kelly Blue Book http://www.kbb.com/

It is the most recognized car value book. Most dealerships use this book for any kind of trade-ins, and then knock it a little lower. If you sell it at the end of your driveway or in the paper, I would add 15-20% to the kelly value.

Help! The Private party thing only goes back to 1983... this is a '76. Would that be a classic? Where do i go to find the value for a '76?

I'm not certain but I think that once it's 25 years old it's considered a classic. Try AutoTraders.com for an idea of what others are asking for their cars.

Depends on condition or miles. Maybe $1500 - $2000 if really nice.

It's probably worth around $1000.

That wasn't a particularly attractive year for Lincoln. And the Town Coupe doesn't have the status or the speed of the Mark or Continental.
Try this Lincoln list:

A lot of Lincoln collectors on it.

Thank you everyone! i'll have hubby check out all these sites in the morning.

You're right Madmouser, the car is buttugly.. but it runs, and it runs good.. everything works (except the clock.. its 4:00 all the time)... and its roomy as heck and comfy too. Rides nice. But its a friggin eye sore and its just sitting coz we all refuse to ride in it, we dropped the insurance and the tags expired... plus its a gashog. We just dont *need* it.

It was my inlaws and when they both passed away a few years ago, hubby inherited it. He held onto for a long time now, but we cant afford to maintain it and because there are surprisingly few miles on it and it runs, its a shame to leave it sit and rot in the backyard. Someone somewhere might actually like it, want it and take care of it.

Or part it out....

So, we're going to try to sell it.

Tomorrow we'll go out and take the tarp off and take a few pics for ya.... then i'll PM them to you. (Its 11PM or i would do it right now)

Its been sitting for about 2 years now... a few sanded and primed over rusts spots, but other than that... well, it still looks like h*ll.

Yes Insaneraptor, tomorrow i will get some pictures for you. Np.

BTW, he goes out, starts it up and lets it run for awhile every couple months. So i know for a fact it runs.

I'm not sure this is what lace_tvi's looks like, but here's a pic of one...

http://www.americandreamcars.com/1976lincolncoup.htm

-sorta the kind of car you put in the paper for $100 and donate to a highschool/college student.
