Hi Guys,
Was wondering, what is the best Windows based control panel in your opinion?

Thanks.

I would probably guess that most people using Windows servers would be using something like H-Sphere. I personally never had any experience with it so I cannot give my input in regards to the performance, etc.

Good Day.

H-Sphere or Helm are both good control panels. I'd advise using one of those...at least until CPanel for Windows is released!

CPanel under Windows!? Yes, this is good idea!
Our clients in the beginning are a little confused
with H-Sphere...

To tell the truth, I would liked hybrid between
H-Sphere and CPanel!

For example - H-SPanel ...

How is it humanly possible to be confused by hsphere?

HSphere is the most user friendly CP on the market

You certainly speak the truth, but when we count up
"Howto tickets" to our support, reality there is
absolutely another!

I use HELM for my business and it is a nice control panel. I think they have made some nice improvements to it and are always adding features according to client input.

We use WHM Helm, and to tell you the truth, STAY AWAY! I don't know what to tell you. Currently we are building our own control panel.

Let me tell you a bit about helm:

1. I commonly craps out the meta files in IIS, causing you to have to re-build your metas on a REGULAR basis.

2. It is only compatible with Serve-U and MS FTP, both IMO SUCK! Both are extemely vonerable to attacks, and even Serve-U often processes up to HOURS at 100% CPU usage.

3. The messages you send out are limited to like 400 characters etc. The control panel is EXTREMELY buggy and written to their own binaries which makes it impossible to work the bugs out yourself. So that leads us to #4.

4. Ask them for support.... Here you go:

Day 1 (Friday). we notice a problem and raise a support ticket at Helm. No response the entire day or night.
Day 2 (Sat). WHAT? THEY ARE CLOSED!
Day 3 (Sun). STILL CLOSED.
Day 4. (MON). No response
Day 5. (Tue). OMG WE GET A RESPONSE! Oh they say we are stupid and want to know more details, being we have given them the EXACT error and the EXACT file that is compiled wrong.
Day 6. (Wed). No response after we tell them in detail as they wanted what is happening.
Day 7. (Thur). They want the error logs.
Day 8. (Fri). We give them the error logs.
Day 9. (Sat). I paid nearly 4K dollars and they are closed on the weekends... Go figure.
Day 10. (Sun). *Whistles*
Day 11. (Mon). NO RESPONSE!
Day 12. (Tue). No response!
Day 13. (Wed). Now they want the login information to the control panel and say it is our error. Ok we give them the admin login.
Day 14. (Thurs) No response
Day 15. (Fri) No response.
CALL ON DAY 15 (Fri) at 2:00 PM their time, GUESS WHAT ANSWERING MACHINE!
Day 16 (Sat) OPPS! Closed again.
Day 17 (Sun) Getting really good at wisteling.
Day 18 (Mon) NO RESPONSE
Day 19 (Tue) AFTER A COMPLAINT and A THREAT OF A LAW SUIT I get this,
"Well we cannot fix it on this end, we will need your terminal services login. We have condluded, that it is a program flaw with your particullar build of Windows 2003."
Day 20 (Wed) I give them the stuff they need.
Day 21 (Thru) No response
Day 22 (Fri) NO RESPONSE CALL AGAIN AND GET AN ANSWERING MACHINE!
Day 23 (Sat) *Whistles Andy Grifthit theme*
Day 24 (Sun) *Whistles songs from Motzart*
Day 25 (Mon) at the end of the day, I find out MY ENTIRE USER DATABASE HAS BEEN WHIPED CLEAN, the IIS meta files are whiped clean and well everything is gone excpet fo the sites.
Day 26 (Tue) Their explaination is, everything was so screwed up we just started you from scratch. But it is fixed.

NOW after 26 days and loosing your entire customer database etc, what would you do? Now just think, 26 days of down time where your customers cannot do a dang thing.... Yeah.

Ok no more comments on Helm
