Installing Perl Modules

Hello all,

A new thing for me to learn today is installing perl modules :)

I've been asked the install the following.

Template (v2.07)
AppConfig (v1.52)
Date::Parse (any)
Chart::Base (v0.99c) for bug charting

Am I completely off track in thinking these can be installed via WHM, or do they need to be installed manually?

Thanks in advance :)

In Web Host Manager scroll all the way down to the "Software" heading and select "Install a Perl module". Easy peasy.

To check what modules are installed use PerlDiver:

perl -MCPAN -e shell

IE perl, use module CPAN, run command 'shell', the CPAN module contains a shell command which produces, you guessed it, a shell, at the shall type

install Bundle::CPAN to grab the latest CPAN, then when it has

install Date:arse (or whateveR)

problem solved.

once you get the 'cpan' module installed, then you have a cpan shell which allows you to install anything and everything else, resolving dependancies along the way. Amazing that such software is free. (Thank you perl gods!)
