How to find your what processor you have


I have a pc that I purchased from a freind hoping to rebuild it... It is running XP but where/how do I find the proccessorit is using with out opening the tower?

Try:

- Click on Start
- Right click on "My Computer" -> "Properties"

It should tell you the processor type, speed and ram - although sometimes generic information is shown so you might have to resort to other methods.

when I do that it just shows

AMD ATHLON{tm} XP
1.19 GHZ

Do you know which porcessor that is or any pther way of telling?

Exactly what it says - an AMD Athlon XP processor operating at 1.19 GHz.

Just to add to that, an Athlon XP running at 1.19 GHz is an AMD Athlon XP 1400+ (taking into consideration that the BIOS is correctly set, if it's not, then the processor speed will show up incorrectly).

So it is a 1400+

Im having problems finding it here http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/...l?redir=CPT301 --- are you sure it is a 1400+?

If so is that a good one?

that says that the AMD XP 1400+ is 1.2GHZ (Pretty close)

Is a mobile processor for a desktop??
If not where can i fidn the 1400+ 1.19 GHZ Amd athlon Xp processor for a desktop?
