Hello

I recently purchased a new computer with a Geforce 4 Ti4200. How would I set up a duel monitor display on the new computer.

My 2nd monitor is about 6 years old and cannot support high resolutions.

I tried plugging both my monitors to the vga ports but when I start the computer both monitors show no display.

Could you please post how to install a dual monitor display.

There are two ways to do this:

Dualhead (Two graphics cards)
Xinerama (One graphics card - Two monitors)

I've included an XF86Config file to show the later.

Although I've done Dualhead, I don't currently have an example of an XF86Config file handy, so google it.

idologicJeff what do you mean by dual head ?

Matrox bring out a range of dual head video cards ... one card two monitors. In fact there P750 has triple head ... one card Three Monitors.

With my Matrox Millenium g400 ran two monitors or one monitor and a tv. with the two monitors you could have it set so that the second monitor was an extension of the first monitor. i.e. it was like having one very wide monitor. or you could have it so that the second monitor was a duplicate of the first monitor.
