Chmoding


How can i make it so that my vsftpd server allows clients to chmod things?

You need to "chown" the file this means "change owner"

If the user was admin and he is under admin group, you would do the following.

chown admin:admin file-here sometimes the : are depreciated with .'s so try them both.

you're not getting my question..i know what chown means..its that ppl on the ftp server can't chmod stuff, i am 99 percent sure its a setting in vsftpd..i am trying to figure that out. they are already the owners of the files they are trying to chmod via their ftp clients
