Wanted: Web Based Application Ideas
What i'm looking for!
I would like some ideas from you guys and gals for web based application(s) that would be beneficial to companies. These application(s) would be developed in PHP/MySQL, and reside on our servers and be rented out for a monthly fee. A company would also have the opportunity to purchase the software for a one time fee, and host it on their servers.
What you will get!
If I like your idea and think it could be profitable, I will develop it and give you or your company one copy of it for free, or host it for your company on our servers for free.
Basically, you'd get your idea programmed for free but I would retain ownership of the idea and script.
Please send any ideas to: nathan@esimetrics.com
Thanks
Nathan

I dont think you'll get many ideas here, as those *great* ideas will be held closely by individuals or the individuals will want a % of revenues...

I have about 2-3 really good and potentially profitable ideas....however Im missing the programming aspect of it.
Im a designer, and I can develop PHP on a smaller level.
My site focuses on design and development. So, I have made the interfaces (or atleast the starts) of two programs, and I have ideas for them. Both of which would be on a monthly fee basis. However I was currently saving up enough cash to pay a higher level php programmer for it.
I dont know if you'd be interested in working out a deal.
However it would have to be more than just a free copy of it
Thanks,
jeff

My idea:
Build a low cost event aggregator with a nice web interface.
I'd like to be able to post events in various forms:
- http get
- http post
- snmp trap
- command line executable
I'd then like to generate alerts based on a simple rules implementation, similar to this:
WHEN event_so_and_so_occurs:
IF (time > 12:00:00 AND time < 06:00:00)
RUN some_after_midnight_script.sh
And so on.
General reporting and visual graphing would be helpful, but not necessary if the data is easily accessible (via pgsql or mysql). All I want is an event aggregator that has a really nice rules based triggering mechanism.<!-- boo! -->

If someone would ever come up with an easy and beautifully interfaced intranet system, I would have purchased it if priced reasonably.
Alongside with eprsonal schedule, options like company's event schedule, address book, e-mail contact list, build-in simple forum, task assignment projects, file sharing, stuff like that.
moreGroupware came close but their software is full of bugs.

Artashes,
Do you think you could come up with a spec sheet on exactly how you'd envision this? It does sound like an interesting project.

Nathan, I will try, even though I'm pressured on time at all times.
I'll just let you know that i searched HotScripts all over and it didn't have one very good and affordable solutions, so this just might be a very good solution, I agree.
Just take a quick look at moregroupware.net as the match I've seen.
Good luck,
