Question

Has Anyone Written an Echo-inc...

I would like to use Echo-inc to process credit cards on my site and I was just wondering if anyone has written a script to integrate their site with the echo-inc payment gateway?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

hey chicken thanks for the link, I have already been to that site, and checked up on the various documentation, however I wasn't successfull in integrating it with my website, and I was just wondering if anyone had successfully integrated the script on their website so they can give me some pointers and what not.

You can use 3rd party solutions for Echo as well as other merchant providers. Check out www.dreamcost.com - I do have a merchant account from Echo-Inc but have not integrated anything yet. I figure it's easier to use EchoNet.

It's tough to do it via online real-time processing.

If you're willing to do it offline (non-real time) you can use just about any charging PC software.

Also, depending on your charging needs EchoTel (touch tone service) is good too.

Dreamhost Pro ( http://dreamcost.com ) is one hosting cart/billing solution that integrates with echo.

thanks for your replies especially about dreamcost, however I'm not looking to do any hosting services, just a membership service to my site. Do you think that dreamcost could be modified to fit my requirements? Or are there any other programs that have integrated with echo to offer real time processing.

Thanks again
Steven

Steven, dreamcost.com also has a program called DreamAccount that you may want to look at if you are not a host... but maybe you already saw it.

Re: Has Anyone Written an Echo-inc...

Hi,

Yes, Echo has one of the best rates available for processing if not the best. One thing you should know before signing up with them is that they will not let you charge a customer for anything beyond 1-month in a service environment. So, quarterly, semi-annual and yearly billings are out of the question with them.

I've talked with them on the phone, they will not bend from their rule and will drop you if they find out .. :-(

I just found out the same thing about Echo.

Anyone have suggestions for a merchant account with comparable rates yet allows quarterly or annual billings?

We just applied for an account at ECHO.

I hope one-time billing is also ok, does anyone know??? I do web design and logos and such, which obviously doesn't call for recurring billing.

Also, we have a domain registry. Do they count this as a one-time billing or a yearly billing? It would be pretty ridiculous to have a merchant account but have to use PayPal or something equally unprofessional for our domain registrations!

I guess I find this pretty frustrating. They advertise "nothing hidden," yet I have seen nothing on this limit, though I read everything carefully.
