I m using photoshop 7.0.1

i have a template that i open in photoshop and when i open the index.html it comes up as a pic. Now when i went to save a webpage it just a pic but name as html. For example

You have done, Save As for Web and have 1 slice, ie.. your entire image? correct me if im wrong.

If you want to save .psd as a .psd then just choose, file > save.

If you want photoshop to help you code your template, search in google about slicing

Okay... Well, what kind of help would you like? For example, are you looking for how to slice 'n dice it up? How to write in the html to make it functional? Or what?
