TailorMadeServices (TMS)

I just found their site... and they seem amazing. Has anyone used them before? Also, do they offer managed plans? I'm quite interested.

Single homed Cogent. I think I'll pass (the company has a good reputation, but I just don't like companies relying on one connection to keep themselves up).

So, it'd be better to go with a more "proffessional" company, such as SM or RS?

They are arranging a second link, so that shouldn't be an issue anymore.

Nevertheless, we've used their/JoseQ's services for longer than a year and never had downtime caused by Cogent... Sure, the world needs opinions, but I prefer the facts...

I am quite interested in their offer, but kinda worried if COGENT should be trusted for my sites given the reputation they have.

Like I said above, there are opinions and there are facts. I know from our own experience that Cogent in Dallas *is* rock-stable. Being the end-user, I don't profit from making such a statement, so you can either take my words or not

I have to agree here. I have had servers there for a year now and have never experienced an outage that wasn't my own fault. The support is even better than the price.

I can agree, Dallas Cogent has been nothing but rock solid for the few servers we have there.

Hmmm, maybe a company worth considering then. The pings are as good as RS from Europe, which is unusual for Cogent.

Who's the second provider they are bringing in and how soon can we expect it?

They had some power problems a while back, but they've since moved DC to resolve those.

The Cogent connectivity is a bit laggy sometimes from here (UK) but not seen any connectivity outages.

I'd certainly use them over someone like RS though, as I can trust them to help out or sort any server/technical problems.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the DC is allready wired for Yipes though that doesn't mean TMS would be using them(or I am thinking of another DC in Dallas eitherway).

I spoke to one of their representatives, or the owner, and one of my questions was, "Are you managed?" He asked me what I meant my managed, and I told him, that I mean updates to kernals, ect. They said they do the updates if asked to. So, that is good.
