Optimizing Loading Time

Hello Guys,
I've never delt with a website that is this graphical. So I've sliced the .PSD, exported it for web, and when I selected maximum which is 80% for the quality, and .jpg as the type. I'm wondering what you guys would recommend to speed up loading time?

heres the page ( I know that the images are out of wack)

http://www.thesimstwo.com/layout/tst_01.html

Thanks!

well for one, you have all the images as regular images.

For example this one:

You could cut out a 1px wide slice of that image and tile it with the background tag in HTML.

You can set different jpg qualities for each sliced section, so the parts with lesser detail could do with a little more compression.
