Colo question

I currently am hosting a RaQ 550 on a Leased 1MB Line and find it to be very good when accessing the server from other connections such as BT DSL from work or at friends houses etc.

I currently have around 15 Domains hosted on the server and am now thinking about moving the server off the least line and to a Data Center of which can offer me a better connection speed.

I have been looking at www.easily.co.uk of which is only 50 miles from where my server is currently and i have spoken to the NOC and asked about the services they can provide to me

They have said for £199 per year

they will connect my server to there network and Cap the internet connection at 2MB ( Default) but can have upto 10MB if needed at no extra cost

I could not get out of the company what there total internet connection speed is at a guess if it was 10MB's and all there other servers are using the same connection would i gain any better speed then staying with my current connecton speed of 1mb with a connection ratio of 1/1

I did a few tests using external companys of which test the download and upload connection speed

I have noticed that most Data Centers dont have stable connection speed rate example as below

Easily co.uk

Test 1 download at 300k per sec
Test 2 download at 360k per sec
test 3 download at 86k per sec

where my leased line

Test 1 download at 240k per sec
test 2 download at 241k per sec
test 3 download at 240k per sec

what are your views on this and what would you do

If they're not willing to tell you what type(s) of connection they have, who their carriers are, how they handle cross-connects, etc. then you probably shouldn't even be considering their services.
