If price is not an issue then you should have a dedicated hardware firewall. Software firewalls are great, but's there always the chance that an remote iptables vunerability that could be exploited through the software firewall.

As for recommendation, APF rocks.

I think it's good to have a balance of both software and hardware firewall solutions if the business can afford it . This way, you have better flexibility in filtering and ensure you have the best possible chance of staying online when an attack (attacks) occur.
