Do those traffic exchange programs really work? If so, which one is good?

Submit it to web directories ,
Submit to search engines,
Link exchange with other ppl if you can ...

Also you may use PPC search engines.

submit to loads of seach engines.....

also, get as many links from other peoples sites back to yours as you can

search engines jump from one site to another through links

also google ranks you on how many links to your site you have (along with other things)
