I need information for doing an article for resellerinfo to list the different credit card companies like ccslide.com with rates, good points and bad ones, etc.

I'm planning on doing a search tonight, but would like it if people could respond to this thread. If you actually use a particular company can you post that as well.

I also need information on merchant accounts and good resources for them.

If anyone is interested in writing this article, please let me know.

Mike,

I'm looking at Instabill. From previous threads it seems like the best option for non-merchant account options. Easy interface, customisation and good tech support (that I've experienced)

A few people have had issues with CCSlide, though I've never used them

Dont do charge.com, they are just resellers (sort of). They set you up with an account but your account is handled by 3 different companies, it turns into a big headache when there's a problem. We have to deal with, creditcards.com for transfers of funds, authorize.net for terminal software and leasecomm for the actual lease and customer service, it really sucks. Also, it seems misleading when you are told your account is only 39.95 then there is a gateway fee on top of that plus your stuck in a 3 year lease. Never again.

Speaking of reselling (and just remembered myself), I decided to poke about a bit after seeing Instabill using something called TotalCart. Sure enough there appears to be someone 'above' Instabill that claims TotalCart as theirs (URL escapes me now). Wondering if Instabill are just onto something the rest of us can get into as well?

You have to admit, it's seems like a nice idea to be a wehost AND a CC account supplier as well don't you think?

Actually, Instabill.com is a service of PaySystems.com since they acquired it.

Since I use PaySystems(not instabill) and I use to use Instabill(dumbass to do so) I noticed the similarites in the Control Centers. Ofcourse, PaySystems is way better and has a lot more features.

Mike,
Here are a couple of links that I think will be useful
The directory actually is a link off of onlineorders site but some people like going directly to an indexed listing.

Hmmm, just opening another bowser (or should I say, *yet* another browser) to check out paysystems.com and that doesn't open.. is that the correct URL ?

Thanks

No don't think of it in terms of crappy ass instabill. Please do not

Instabill is the FREE version, you could say, of revecom(owned by paysystems).

With Revecom(of paysystems) you dont have the horrible rates and there are a lot of great features.

http://www.revecom.com I can't back them up all myself, check out the site.

<edit> and to answer your question, they do it <edit>

thanks for the illumination. That's pretty much what I assumed and have been looking at it this way...

Instabill... no inital outlay, but a 10%/10% whack. Good to start with as there's no heavy upfront fee, or extra charges like statement fees.

Propay... better in the long run once the client base grows to cover the monthly fees etc (as I remember it). Do you need a merchant account with them?

Full Merchant Account... after things are good, and you have credit balances, track record etc, so you can hit the banks and look for a direct merchant facility.

Poke holes in that if I missed something or got it wrong.

Propay has a service ("Web Pay") that works something like PayPal -- your customer would go there and fill in their own information. They have another service ("Personal Pay") where you can enter your customer's billing information yourself.

The biggest drawback I see to using Propay for a business is that you can not use your business name. From the FAQ: "All ProPay Commerce Accounts must be under the name of an individual [emphasis mine], and are intended for person-to-person services. We will be introducing a service for businesses in the future."

merchant accounts

Im not sure whether you want just web based Merchant Account Providers or also non web based, but we use card service international (www.cardservice.com) supposedly their the biggest out there (who knows) and we have been happy with them, I think they team up with authorize.net
