Web-based email software needed
Hello,
Can someone recommand a good and reliable web-based email software? I would like to offer visitors free web-based emails. So they can sign up for an email under my domain name (anyone@mydomain.com).
I want to have the ability to add my own banners when they logon the web interface, and be able to add a short text ad to every emails sent, like Yahoo email and Hotmail.
It does not have to be a freeware.
Thanks.

Thanks for providing the resources.
Can someone give a recommendation for one or two best vendors in the web-based email programs based on your experience/knowledge?
I need a program that allow my visitors to sign up an email account on their own and login on the web. It also allows me to attach a line text advertisement to each email sent like Yahoo mail.

Most webmail packages won't offer dynamic signup as there are too many factors relating to the many server setups that there are.
I'm afraid you'll probably have to find one for webmail and then one for dynamic signup and link the two together yourself.
Try hotscripts.com, lots of webmail resources there.

Free web-based email service (like Yahoo mail and Hotmail) is not new. There must be somebody offers the similar service and knows what vendors are better than others.
Thanks for all your help and advice.

I use Gossamer Mail from http://www.gossamer-threads.com/. I've been very happy with it. In my opinion, it's one of the best out there.

I'd have to say the one I like most is OpenWebmail (2nd on that google directory list above)... It's open source... no licensing fees... and supports most of the important things and then some.

However, OpenWebmail does not have a signup script for visitors to sign up a new email account. In addition, I need to have an ability to put my own banners on each page and add a text advertising message to each message sent. Gossamer Mail seems to have all features I need. By the way, Gossamer Mail does not actually create a POP email account. It is a virtual email account within Gossamer Mail system.
Thanks.
