Payments Question

Hi, I was wondering if someone could help me. I am looking to buy a SEO service for $500 from someone who lives in Romania. I wanted to pay via PayPal for this service. However, PayPal doesnt accept Romanian citizens. This person has suggested that I deposit the funds to their bank accounts, but I dont feel happy doing this. I was wondering if anyone knows of a service, similar to PayPal that allows Romanian citizens to signup, and also accepts funds from PayPal.

Many Thanks,
Tom

In my opinion, you should be able to find someone in the US (or whatever country you are in) that is willing to help you out. I would consider just reading more about SEO before paying someone. Make sure they are not gauranteeing you number 1 in google, etc. No one can do that.

Well maybe write out a contract or something - 25% per cent up front, another 25% at the halfway mark & the remainder 50% for the final coding. This is usually how most programmer work or they do a 50-50 as well.

I tried to check out Stormpay but there was nothing listed there. Sorry when you said you did not feel comfortable, I took it to mean that you did not feel comfortable sending him money & not sending him money via the banking system (ACH).

Does he recommend another 3rd party payor? I mean what does his other customers use? Or do they all just use the bank?

Check out this site: http://romania.ikobo.com/ - see if they do not do what you need to do. If not - Western Union will also.

Greetings!

Tom, You might not feel happy depositing in a bank because there is transaction charge perhaps.

You can ask your Romanian friend if it is ok if you split the bank charges (50-50). That should somehow be a fair deal.

If you want it fast, you can use Western Union.

"I was wondering if anyone knows of a service, similar to PayPal that allows Romanian citizens to signup, and also accepts funds from PayPal."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I take it that you want your friend to sign up to a 3rd party system that allows Romanian citizen to sign up. And at the same time, that system should be able to accept Paypal funds so that you can pay him.

Here is quote from the ikobo.com website:

"Q: Can i use my debit card to send money? I do not own a credit card.
A: If your debit card has a Visa or MasterCard logo on it you can use it to send money. "

So if your Paypal has a debit card that goes with it and it has a Visa or MasterCard logo you can use it to send money to your friend who subscribe with ikobo.

We have an i-kard actually. But, we don't have Paypal. We use our credit card to fund our account when we need to send money.

I hope that helps.
