Nothing from here either. I'm sure it's just a glitch and the site will be operational asap.

Worldpay? Although slightly more expensive, maybe worth it.

I have used 2checkout for nearly two years and 'nothing but trouble' is not my experience. There have been trouble, but not 'nothing but trouble'

Get away from 3rd party processors. The real merchant gateway is the way to do it, so much easier and so fewer issues.

I don't know about "so much easier". Read through this forum and you'll find horror stories from folks using "real merchant accounts".

Paysystems works very well for us. They've been pretty good lately [touch wood]. Merchant accounts don't work for everyone. It comes down to finding what works for your business and implementing that.

Say no to 2checkout. Say yes to paysystems and worldpay :-)

  14. #14
PaySystems sucks and they are spammers. I will not be a part of supporting spammers.

I am on the phone with 2CheckOut now. They had a denial of service attack. Thier website was down, but orders are still being processed on the gateway pages. If you use thier plug and play cart, that is down as well because it is run off thier main domain.

They said they will be back online in five minutes.

even paysystems is like 2checkout.com can say 2checkout is better.

    wroldpay is good.

Sep 8, 2003: 2Checkout was hit by a DDoS (distributed denial of service attack) this morning. The exact hours of this attack are unknown at this time but ran from roughly 6:00am EDT to 9:45am EDT. During this period, access to the 2Checkout web servers were limited.

Actions have been taken by 2Checkout and our upstream provider to keep this from happening again and to identify the people responsible.

The sellers area may experience short periods of downtime during the rest of the day while we gather evidence to turn over to law enforcement and add software enhancements to more effectively deal with a situation like this in the future. The buyers machines should not be affected at all during this time.

i've had problems with 2checkout for 2 weeks.

I don't use them, but several of the vendors i purchase from use them and either the order form doesn't work or the payment gateway functionality is down and it isn't accepting payments.

glad i don't use them anymore!

    Stay AWAY

I will also say that 2checkout is absolutely one of the worst companies Ive ever had to deal with.

We will be moving our cc processing to another company very soon.

It took them 1 week to respond to my latest trouble ticket.

Refunds havent worked for me in 3 weeks.

    Stay AWAY Please!!!!!

Bashar, I would tell you to go with World Pay - but they do not offer services in our area - I'm in the UAE, and they dont offer it here - I've heard good things about them.

I did quite a bit of research on other companies - and unless you're willing to pay top$ for processing - like 12-15% at companies like ibill.com (a complete billing solution though, but still expensive!), really for international businesses, you're left with pays and 2checkout.

I would recommend goin with paysystems - their customer service is good - a rep called me up here in UAE out of the blue to assist me with setting up my account and helping me with anything else

Eventually, you'd want to get a reliable merchant account and do it yourself - till then - not much choice really. Good luck to you!

... And as for the other person askin who would attack 2checkout.com - I dunno, maybe irate ex-clients of theirs just a guess...

Our first notice that they were down came at 9:30 AM EST from a customer who couldn't order. It is now 1:30 PM EST and their site is still down for us, and we have been getting calls all day from customers who can't place orders and want to order over the phone, of course 2checkout doesn't allow that, so hopefully the customers will try again later as we advised them, or use PayPal which we also accept. But 4 hours of downtime for something as key as a merchant processor is amazing...I understand a DOS attack can screw things up for a while, but they need to get this taken care of.

BTW, for those discussing payment processors and merchant accounts and whatnot, I would always recommend using two, so in a situation like this where one provider goes down, you don't have to lose as much business. We also accept PayPal payments on our web site, so some people who have called today have gone that route instead. We thought about using Paysystems.com as a backup provider, but their 'points system' confused many of our participants in a test checkout process, so we have backed away. But their support was excellent throughout our trial run, so if you don't mind their point system, I would say try them out.

I consider myself lucky. I just spent this passed weekend converting my checkout scripts from 2checkout to a full merchant account. Lucky timing...

They said on their merchant login page that their Client ordering servers will not be affected with DDoS but me and my clients (who are about to pay for new hosting accounts) are facing problems accessing the payment pages.

I'll switch to my PaySystems account if this continues a little longer. The bad news is that the very same thing can happen to PaySystems or any other payment solution provider.
