The SWAP memory is an allocated portion of harddisk space which is use as part of the virtual memory framework. The computer would require memory to do computation and process in and typically that is done in the physical RAM but when the physical memory space is insufficient for the processing, it will draw on this dedicated portion of harddisk call the SWAP memory and use it as an extension of the physical RAM. The SWAP is slower but at least you wouldn't run out of memory when you need it.

SWAP is a special partition. so it don't show up there (although it will use your harddisk space depending on how big you partition it)
